Metrograph Spring Film Book Fair
May 18-19, 2019
Readers, film lovers, and everyone who lives in the significant overlap of that Venn Diagram: Metrograph’s Spring Film Book Fair will be open to the public on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, 11am to 6pm. Thousands of rare, vintage, and out of print items will be available, including biographies, monographs, hundreds of periodicals covering the last seven decades from Sight & Sound to The Velvet Light Trap, plus memorabilia, scripts, novelizations, and other extraordinary pieces of ephemera. In addition, Taschen, n+1, Anartist Rare Books, and Capricious will be on hand with film-focused books and publications, along with featured selections from Phaidon, Columbia University Press, Verso, Paris Review, New Directions, and more. We'll be there all weekend with a curated selection of original posters, photographs, and lobby cards. We'll also have some exclusive Posteritati apparel on hand while supplies last.

Metrograph’s Film Book Fair returns for the 2018 holiday season with hundreds of newly acquired vintage cinema books, out-of-print monographs, rare periodicals, and film ephemera. From biographies of favorite Hollywood stars - a signed copy of Ethel Merman’s biography, anyone? - to rare magazines like the 1934 issue of Experimental Cinema, focused on Eisenstein’s ¡Que Viva Mexico!, to a full set and more of our favorite Cinema One monographs, the Holiday Film Book Fair presents a whole new bounty of treasures, in addition to a gift-wrapping station; vendors New York Review Books, Posteritati, Light Industry, and more; a Grove Press dedicated screening and section; and a reading, screening, and signing with Maira Kalman and Alex Kalman. This August 10-12, Metrograph holds their first Film Book Fair: their newly acquired collection of thousands of rare, vintage, and out-of-print items will be available, including biographies, monographs, hundreds of periodicals covering the last seven decades—from Sight & Sound to Cahiers to The Velvet Light Trap—plus memorabilia, scripts, novelizations, and ephemera. The Film Book Fair will also feature special events and screenings with guests all weekend long, including Warren Beatty's Reds with Darryl Pinckney, an opening night show of Sunset Boulevard, and two by Roald Dahl: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James Bond classic You Only Live Twice.
